Google are really forging ahead in the free applications stakes. There is Gmail for a start, which I have been using for a long time now, and I love it for its simple but easy to use interface. I addition there is chat as well. Not up to MSN standards (yet) but it has the benefit of not requiring software installation, being entirely web-based, a boon at work. Welcome to Holimonth
Di Ciadain, 23 An Lùnastal 2006

 1 Holimonth 1562
 29 Grain/Eilmí,Year 7

The ninth month of the solar year begins today. The name Holimonth comes from the Old English Halegmonað, meaning, simply, “holy month”. In the Shire Calendar, it is alled Halimath. This month may also be called Harvestmonth, from the Old English Hærfestmonað, and is the month which includes the well-known “Harvest” full moon. In popular parlance, it is the last month of summer.

Today is Lughnasadh, which marks the ending of summer and the beginning of autumn (Rise of Autumn) in the old Celtic calendars. In modern terms of reference, this is the beginning of later summer and is the time when the nights are noticeably drawing in at an ever faster rate, and harvest time is approaching.

THIS is a very well-written and informative article on calendars, particularly lunar calendars, and their relevance to astronomical events. I have bookmarked it for future reference.
